Jess joined OPEN M as the Events, Volunteer + Development Manager in May of 2019. A graduate of Kent State University’s sports administration program, Jess dove into the sports industry with the Akron RubberDucks, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Cavaliers. In these roles she found her passion in community outreach so took her talents to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter to assist in their development and fundraising efforts.
Jess lives in Kent with her husband Kyle and their cats Regulus, Manson, Cat, and Street Cat. When she’s not working one of her three jobs, you can find Jess reading (probably Harry Potter), listening to true crime podcasts, planning her next Halloween costume, or volunteering in her community.
Three things people would be surprised to know about Jess include:
"I was part of the first all-female team to compete at Baldwin Wallace’s Computer Programming Contest. I am fiercely introverted but am exceptional at hiding it (most days). I compete in bodybuilding competitions – I most recently placed third in my class.”
The mission of OPEN M, a Christian ministry, is to provide pathways out of poverty for all by feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, and strengthening the community.
