Jon began his government affairs experience in the Ohio Statehouse, before serving in the office of U.S. Congressman Steven LaTourette. It was in Congressman LaTourette's office that Jon first learned to draft policy and identify government funding opportunities for constituents. From this position, Jon went on to work for then-United States Senator, and former Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, where he served as the Senator's grants manager, and as a speechwriter on the Senator's communications team.
After leaving the United States Senate, Jon worked for Washington, D.C.'s largest private lobbying firm, Van Scoyoc Associates, serving countless Fortune 500 companies, as well as national nonprofit organizations, and municipalities. Jon's true passion was always in serving entrepreneur-led small businesses and community nonprofits, ensuring that they had the same opportunities afforded to Fortune 500 companies, in the realms of business development and government affairs.
Before entering politics, Jon proudly worked as a firefighter, and a Lake Erie water rescue diver. Jon considers himself a scotch aficionado, and plans to be a professional golfer when he grows up.
