Filling the Diaper Gap for Families in Need

IMG_0057 (1).jpg

Throughout the month of January, one of our partner churches, Montrose Zion UMC, collected diaper donations from their congregation. This collection amounted to nearly 6,000 diapers that they donated to OPEN M for our participants.

According to the National Diaper Bank Network, one in three families in the US don’t have all the diapers they need to keep their infants clean, dry and healthy. Depending on their age, babies usually require between 8 -12 diapers a day. The cost of those diapers can be upwards of $70 to $80 a month for each baby, and they are not covered under government assistance programs. As a result, many children are left to suffer the consequences of living with a lack of this basic need.

Today, Montrose Zion met a critical need in our community. Their donation will ensure that many babies in our community have access to this basic necessity. Thank you Montrose Zion UMC.
