God Delivered Me to OPEN M’s Doorsteps

“I was hit by a drunk driver in 1994 and have on-going issues due to my injuries. While I have always had insurance to take care of my needs, in recent years, I have been uninsured. My pain-management doctor’s office went out of business and my health began to decline, all of this happened at once. My father was diagnosed with dementia, my stepfather was diagnosed with cancer and my siblings and I became round-the-clock caregivers. This resulted in increased anxiety for me that later led to high blood pressure and headaches.

A co-worker told me about OPEN M’s medical clinic but warned that it was difficult to become an active patient. Feeling let down, I asked my sister if she knew about OPEN M. To my surprise, I learned my sister was a patient. As a result, I called the clinic director and was able to get an appointment right away. OPEN M has been a blessing for me. The quality of care is great. Everyone is eager to help. The doctors, nurses, volunteers, and staff are thorough.

God delivered me to OPEN M’s doorstep when I needed it most. Today, my blood pressure is lower, my muscle spasms aretreated with a TENS unit, my anxiety is controlled, and my diet has improved through the help and support of the staff dietitian. I am a spiritual person and OPEN M is a Christian-based ministry, this lets me know I am in a good place. They have given me back my dignity. In fact, if the clinic were not in our community it would be heartfelt for me and tragic for our community.”
