Jennifer L. Dougall, Ph.D., PCC

Jennifer Dougall has worked in the field of mental health as a Professional Clinical Counselor and as an Educator. Most recently she served as the Director for the Center for Student Wellness and Counseling Services at Northeast Ohio Medical University. In this role, she expanded the counseling program from two counselors to a five-person team providing counseling services, psychiatric services and wellness programming centered around mental and emotional health. In August, she begins a new role at Ashland Theological Seminary as Assistant Professor of Counseling.

Dougall earned her B.A. from The College of Wooster and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Counseling from The University of Akron.

Previous to her position at NEOMED, Dougall worked at Summa Health Systems in the psychiatric intensive outpatient treatment program and the employee assistance counseling program. She also ran her private practice for several years.

Dougall is an educator at heart and has served as an adjunct faculty member at both UA and NEOMED. In a recent career move, she will be returning to her teaching tradition and will be serving as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program in an Ohio faith-based counseling program.

Dougall looks forward to working with OPEN M, bringing her background and experience in mental health and finding new opportunities to help the underserved in ways that are most impactful for healing and community growth.
