Julie Carneal named CEO

OPEN M names Julie Carneal as CEO, demonstrating a commitment to faith and service

OPEN M is pleased to announce that Julie Carneal has been named Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. With 18 years of experience at OPEN M, Carneal is uniquely qualified to lead with love and dedication.

OPEN M was founded on Christian values and has faithfully served the community for 55 years. OPEN M has a strong team of visionaries that are committed to the mission. Carneal said, "I am honored to serve alongside a wonderful team of leaders, employees, and volunteers who embody the values of OPEN M with faith, love, and hope.”

Board Chair Patricia Wicks, MSW expressed confidence in Carneal's ability to lead the organization forward, saying, "The Board is thrilled that Julie will serve as CEO of OPEN M. She has proven leadership, dedication to our mission, loves the Lord, and serves with commitment and passion. I am looking forward to supporting her leadership and inspired vision."

Carneal is committed to building on the great work that has been done before her. She said, “When you invest in the life of another, they become like family.” Carneal said she envisions expansion in several areas, particularly:

- Meeting with our community - listening, learning, planning, then acting.
- Creating sustainable on-site career training and other educational programs.
- Developing the passions and insights of the OPEN M team.

“We need to equip people with the proper tools to succeed. First, providing for their basic needs. Then working with them and their desire and mindset to improve their circumstances. Then teaching them how to succeed through techniques, onsite job training, and continued counseling support. ‘If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.’ We want our OPEN M family to be fed for a lifetime,” shared Carneal.
