Newest Board Members Begin Terms

In February, OPEN M welcomed board members:

At-Large, Dr. Brian Bauman – Summa Health System
At-Large, Hanne-Lore Gambrell – Attorney, The Law Office of H. Gambrell, LLC

Brian Bauman, MD, FCCP

Dr. Brian Bauman is the medical director of Summa’s Pulmonary Service Line and the founding medical director of Summa’s Lung Nodule Program. He is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Michigan, is Board Certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He has been at Summa since 2010.

Dr. Bauman’s clinical interests include the evaluation of lung nodules and comprehensive evaluation and care for lung cancer. He has worked extensively to develop a seamless process for the coordinated care of patients undergoing evaluation for lung cancer.

An Akron area resident, Dr. Bauman has lived the majority of his life in the Akron Area, attending grade school at St. Hilary’s and high school at Walsh Jesuit. Dr. Bauman’s two older children attend Hoban and St. Ignatius High Schools. His lifelong commitment to service began with volunteering at Mobile Meals, an organization his own mother was an active leader in.

Hanne-Lore Gambrell, Esq.

Hanne-Lore Gambrell, Esq. has been practicing law since 2018 and is an active member of various bar associations. In addition to her private practice, she is an Adjunct Professor at The University of Akron School of Law.

While pursuing her JD / MBA from The University of Akron School of Law and The University of Akron College of Business Administration, respectively, Hanne-Lore was an Associate Editor for the Akron Law Review. She also served as President of The University of Akron’s Chapter of Black Law Students Association from 2016-2018. She has earned recognition for her extensive service activities and professional achievements, including the 30 for the Future award by the Greater Akron Chamber in 2020.

Hanne-Lore serves on several boards and committees, including as a chair o the Social Action Committee for the Akron Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a Past President of the Akron Urban League Young Professionals and Vice-Chair of the Diversity Committee at the Akron Bar Association, where she is also a board member. Hanne-Lore is also a board member of North Hill CDC, a member of Akron-Canton Barristers Association, a mentor for Black Women Bosses at Kent State University, and has founded an African American Attorney’s mentorship program at The University of Akron School of Law.

In her spare time, you can find her traveling, sneaking in mid-day naps and reading mystery novels.
