OPEN M Updates Leadership
The OPEN M Board of Directors announces Julie Carneal, Chief Operations Officer, as Interim CEO while the Board completes the search for a new CEO. In addition, the new Executive Committee of the Board commenced its two-year term at its February meeting and welcomed two new board members.
Interim CEO
Julie Carneal has served OPEN M for 18 years, nine as a volunteer and nine as an employee. She first served as Food Services Manager before her promotion to COO in 2022. In addition to overseeing the implementation of OPEN M’s food service programs, Carneal oversees operations including facilities management, employment services, and health services. An innovator, she transformed food services by establishing a beloved community garden; successfully pivoting food services to include distributing food staples to participants in their vehicles; updating the hot lunch program to a Grab & Go carryout; and adding a delivery service to meet a rampant need among seniors, shut-ins, and individuals with transportation challenges.
