Food For the Whole Family

Thanks to a new partnership with the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC), OPEN M is participating in a pilot program to offer dog and cat food to our participants in need at our Mountain of Food distributions. Through this partnership, we have been able to provide a source of nourishment to all members of the family, human and animal alike.

“It means a lot to our family that you guys also help support our animals. All of my animals are rescues and we want to give these animals a good home and be able to feed them, especially during this pandemic..It’s a blessing,” said Kristi, Food Services participant.

According to officials at the HSSC, the pandemic has caused an influx in calls requesting assistance with pet food and an increase in requests from owners to surrender their animals. This pilot program has greatly helped our participants through this tough time so that no one has to choose between feeding themselves or feeding their furry family.
